The College of Business currently offers the pursuing six assisting business competencies. Students have been accepted to the faculty Once, declare their major, and are thinking about completing a competency, they should be aware of prerequisite programs when planning their level. Entrepreneurship (9 semester credit hours) – Students who complete the Entrepreneurship competency will prepare to take part in the creation, management and release of new business projects.
International Business (9 semester credit hours) – Students who complete the International Business competency will prepare to understand international marketing, tactical, economic and financial issues that confront managers of multinational enterprises. Leading Change (9 semester credit hours) – Students who complete the Leading Change competency will prepare to lead teams of professionals to plan projects, deliver solutions and improve efficiency and effectiveness in the contemporary organization.
Modeling (9 semester credit hours) – Students who complete the Modeling competency will prepare to execute, through proper use of quantitative and computer models, problem solving and decision evaluation in support of business functions in a genuine world environment. Risk Management (9 semester credit hours) – Students who complete the chance Management competency will prepare to identify resources of risk within an organization and manage this risk in a wise manner.

A specific B.B.A. major can’t be guaranteed and will depend on departmental resources. Students outside the College of Business may petition to sign up in every other 3000- and 4000-level College of Business programs. Evaluation of most petitions to enroll in major limited classes will consider whether (a) the course pertains to their degree plan, and (b) if the student meets all prerequisites.
All of these petitions must be approved by appropriate Department Chair and College Dean. Enrollment in MGT 3003 is restricted to pre-business, Business Studies and announced business majors only. Students majoring in fields outside the College of Business might not take more than 27 semester credit hours in the faculty without acceptance of the Dean of the faculty of Business.
All levels in the faculty of Business require 120 hours. If students elects to have a course that satisfies both a University Primary COB and Curriculum necessity, students might need to take an additional course to meet up with the 120 hours. 1. The college student must be a announced major in the faculty of Business and in good educational standing at UTSA and in the College of Business. 2. The college student must: – Have completed at the least 60 semester credit hours, of which a minimum of 15 credit hours have been completed at UTSA.
Meet all internship course prerequisites, like the minimum grade point average necessary for enrolling in the internship. 3. The internship must be in (or related to) the student’s declared major. The learning student should consult his or her major degree requirements for specific details. 4. Internships at all for-profit companies must be paid at an hourly rate equivalent to the minimum income or higher to be in compliance with the Department of Labor suggestions. An educational credit internship with a company at which students is currently employed may be looked at, but only when clear proof shows that the internship is and programmatically not the same as such employment substantially. 6. The internship must last at least 200 work hours within the word of enrollment where the pupil is seeking academic credit.
